Unlike dedicated night vision scopes, the ClipNV mounts directly in front of an existing day optic, preserving the optic's reticle and ballistic zero. Installation requires no adjustments to the rifle's existing zero, allowing operators to quickly transition between daytime and nighttime operations while maintaining familiar optics and shooting techniques.
The ClipNV features a premium ESA Gen III White Phosphor image intensifier tube with a minimum rating of 2376 FOM. White phosphor technology delivers excellent image contrast while presenting the scene in natural grayscale tones that reduce eye fatigue and improve target identification during prolonged observation.
The ClipNV is optimized for use with daytime optics ranging from approximately 1x to 12x magnification. Since the ClipNV itself provides true 1x magnification, the attached daytime optic determines the final viewing magnification, making the system equally effective for patrol rifles, designated marksman rifles, and other professional platforms.
Manual gain adjustment allows the operator to optimize image brightness as ambient lighting conditions change. Easily accessible controls provide intuitive operation while remaining behind the rifle.
The front objective focus adjusts from approximately 10 meters to infinity, allowing users to quickly adapt between close-range observation and extended-distance target identification.
The ClipNV is engineered to maintain the rifle's existing zero with a maximum allowable shift of less than 1 MOA. This minimizes additional confirmation shooting while providing confidence that daytime ballistic data remains valid during nighttime operations.
An integrated Picatinny accessory rail permits the attachment of compatible infrared illuminators, lasers, or other mission-specific accessories without requiring additional mounting hardware.
The ClipNV operates from a single AA battery and accepts lithium, alkaline, or rechargeable batteries. Runtime exceeds 60 hours using a lithium AA battery, reducing battery changes during extended operations. An internal low-battery indicator is visible through the daytime optic to notify the operator when replacement is needed.
Manufactured to MIL-STD-810G environmental standards, the ClipNV is built to withstand harsh operational environments including recoil, vibration, temperature extremes, and adverse weather. The unit is rated for use on rifles chambered up to .50 BMG.
